Death Lost Jurisdiction | What the Empty Tomb Declared

Death was once the unquestioned authority in the human story.
Every person feared it. Every empire bowed to it. Every philosophy tried to explain it.

But the Resurrection did not merely promise life after death.
It removed death’s legal claim.

“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore… and I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” — Revelation 1:18

Keys mean jurisdiction.
Access control.
Authority.

The Resurrection wasn’t Jesus escaping death.

It was Jesus entering it, exhausting it, and leaving it powerless to rule.

“It was not possible that He should be held by it.” — Acts 2:24

If death could not hold Him,
death cannot hold what is in Him.

So the believer does not live as someone waiting for victory.
We live from a verdict already spoken.

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above…” — Colossians 3:1

The tomb is empty.
The throne is occupied.
The verdict stands.
